Responsibilities:
- Enhancements and additions to existing applications and systems for our customers.
- Evolution of our environment to leverage new technologies and offerings of our platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain UNIX systems on dedicated hardware, as well as on Amazon EC2.
- Install and maintain hardware.
- Configure and maintain DNS.
- Configure and maintain Firewalls.
- Assist in the care and feeding of our application, which utilizes Apache, PostgreSQL, and ModPerl.
- Work with Senior and Peer Network/System Administrators.
- Work in accordance with technical direction from the Senior Network/System Administrator, and the Development and Operations Manager.
- Work with, and in support of, application developers and data base administrator (DBA).
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Windows desktop/server management.
- PCI vulnerability assessment and compliance.

Required Skills:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Considerable knowledge of UNIX, particularly FreeBSD but also CentOS.
- Experience or considerable understanding of Amazon EC2.
- Understanding of Web Standards (HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, XSL, JavaScript, Web Services).
- Ability to communicate to all levels of users (internal and external).
- Strong skills in planning and managing to a schedule.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver quality results with modest direction.
- Strong problem solving skills - adaptable, proactive.
- Good work ethic and attitude.
Desired Skills:
- Previous ecommerce solution experience.
- Strong commitment to quality, architecture and documentation.
- Perl application development.
